Exciting Things Are Happening In Room 116!

      Our First Graders have been hard at work, here in First Grade!

   

      The students were so excited to finally meet their Big Buddies and had a great time getting to know them and reading with them, during Big Buddy Time.  We also made special cards for our Big Buddies to wish them good luck on the NECAPS.  We even made signs to help cheer on the students in Grades 3,4,5, and 6 at the NECAP Pep Rally.  It was wonderful to have the whole school together, shining brightly as Academy Stars!

Read Aloud Fun With Mr. Pickles!

 We love when Mr. Pickles comes to read to us!  Especially when he reads Fly Guy and Elephant and Piggy Books!  Ask your child to tell you all about their favorite story that Mr. Pickles read to them this week.

We've Had An Exciting Few Weeks in First Grade!

The students have been busy here in First Grade!  They are quickly settling in to our daily routines and I am so proud of all of them!

Over the last few weeks, the students were hard at work on their “Look Whooo’s In First Grade” Books.  They did a great job on all 20 pages of their books!  It was wonderful to show them off at our Open House.  I was so pleased to see so many of you at our Open House and I know it meant a lot to the students to be able to show you all of the things they have accomplished already this year!

Exploring Our Classroom Library!

The students have been having so much fun exploring our classroom library and can't wait to pick out their "Dessert Books" for their Book Bins.  Ask your child to tell you their favorite bin that they have explored so far! 

 

Introducing Our Book Bins!

Today was a very important day in First Grade! Each student pledged to take good care of the books in our classroom and were given their Book Bins for the first time.  The students had a wonderful time reading the books that were selected for them.  Ask your child to tell you all about reading in First Grade!

New School Year...Beautiful New Beginnings!

Our Academy Garden is in full bloom, just in time for the new school year to begin.  We've been having lots of fun getting to know each other and look forward to growing together this year, in First Grade!
