Our Literacy Breakfast and Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration!

We had a wonderful time at Our Literacy Breakfast! It was so nice to have so many families and teachers come celebrate with us!  The students all loved their new books and had a great time reading with the families and teachers!  Here are some pictures from our event.  We hope you enjoy them!

We also had a fantastic time celebrating Dr. Seuss' Birthday and Read Across America Day!  The students really enjoyed reading the Cat in the Hat and doing the Inferencing Activity that went along with the story.  The students did an excellent job inferring about the characters in the story.  They also wrote Opinion Pieces about whether or not they would want the Cat in the Hat to come to their house on a rainy day.  They all did a great job!  Please come see their hard work that is on display in the hallway outside of our classroom!

The students loved eating Dr. Seuss' Birthday cake and are really looking forward to continuing our author study on Dr. Seuss this month!

We Learned All About Owls During Four Winds!

We had a blast learning about Owls during our Four Winds lesson this month!  The students had a great time looking at the amazing pictures on our Smartboard during the Owl Power Point Presentation.  They also loved seeing the real examples of feathers and talons and getting to explore owl pellets.  A big thank you to all of our wonderful Four Winds volunteers! We always have so much fun learning with you!

We can't wait for our next Four Winds lesson!
