I'm so proud of our first graders for earning all of their Pig Compliments! The students and I decided to honor the accomplishment with a Pajama Party and to watch Charlotte's Web! The students loved reading E.B. White's classic and had a great time comparing the movie to the book. The students also brought in their favorite stuffed animals to help them celebrate! We had such a fun day together! Here are a few pictures from our day together:

Exciting Things Are Happening in Room 116!
It was great to be back together again after the Fall Break! All of the students had enthusiastic experiences to share during our Morning Meeting on Monday. The students have also used the fun they had with their families as inspiration for their writing homework assignment. I look forward to reading about their adventures!

Our Rainbow Friendship Fish!
We really enjoyed reading, The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister. We had a great discussion about the importance of being a good friend.
We then brainstormed a list of qualities that we thought made someone a good friend. The students then wrote about what friendship means to them and created their own Rainbow Fish!
We have had so much fun learning about friendship and here is a picture of their amazing Rainbow Friendship Fish!
