December Holiday Fun!

We had a lot of fun learning about Hanukkah and read some great books together!  We did a Shared Reading of "Who Lit The Candle This Hanukkah Night?" and created our own class version.  We also did a Shared Reading of "Who Will Help Make the Latkes?" and did a Sequencing Activity together.

We celebrated the Winter Solstice by reading the Shortest Day and making Academy Star Stained Glass Cookies.  We had a great time!

The students had fun making gingerbread men for their Big Buddies!

Mr. Paciulli came to read some holiday books to us and we loved them!

We celebrated the holidays together all warm and cozy in our pajamas and got a special holiday present from a kind angel!  The kids loved wearing their headbands and they looked so cute!

We had fun decorating and eating gingerbread cookies!

We also had a blast with Sophie and Lily's Mom making Reindeer Treats!

We Have So Much To Be Thankful For!

As part of our Thanksgiving Literacy Centers the students created turkeys that follow the doubling rule that they have been studying in our Fundations Unit.

The students have also been working hard on creating their "I'm Thankful For Turkeys" during Writing.

We also had fun with Turkeys during our Math Centers!  Below the students are working on the Role A Turkey Activity!

Even Mr. Pacuilli came to help us celebrate Thanksgiving!  He did a wonderful job reading his favorite Thanksgiving children's book:
